Wisdom Circles
Wisdom Circles provide an opportunity to explore topics in depth, being mindful of how each topic forms and informs our spiritual practice and our daily life, and looking within each topic for what the Wisdom traditions have to teach us. All Wisdom Circles meet in the Studio at Healing Ground unless otherwise noted.
Enneagram Wisdom Circle

The Enneagram is a comprehensive psycho-spiritual typology that helps us understand our personality and our relationships. At its deepest level, it is a map to wholeness that helps us remember who we are and what we came here to do. This bimonthly series is designed for people who have had an introduction to the Enneagram, know their Enneagram type and are committed to practicing presence in their daily life. This session's focus is on working the Enneagram symbol to gather the strengths and gifts of each point as we integrate toward wholeness.
Led by: Dee Irwin, Enneagram teacher and retreat leader
Every other Wednesday from 9:00–11:30 am, January 7–April 29, 2009
Suggested donation: $100
Pre-Pilgrimage Celtic Saints Wisdom Circle
This circle is designed for those who would like to read and prepare for the 2009 Healing Ground Pilgrimage — “A Pilgrimage with the Celtic Saints in Brittany: Discovering God in All.” We will be using some of the vast and rich spiritual traditions of Brittany from Patrick to Martin of Tours (Candes St. Martin) to St. Michael (Mont St. Michel) to the Black Madonna (Chartres). Marcus Losack and Regina Roman will meet with us for a presentation and meditation when they are in North Carolina this spring. The wisdom circle is open to both pilgrims and pilgrim partners who support those who go to Brittany.
Led by Pat Bailey and Dee Irwin, pilgrims on the journey

Soul of Money Wisdom Circle
Many of us have taken classes on the energy or soul of money and have explored the habits that keep us in debt both financially and energetically. Putting those practices to work in a culture that views money through the lens of power, prestige and possessions is a real challenge. Some habits are easy to change, others more difficult. This is time to check in with others who are rethinking their relationship to money and to explore the new challenges we face with the global financial meltdown.
Led by Ruth Anderson, Director of The Servant Leadership School of Greensboro

Women in Soup
Women often find themselves in situations where creative action is necessary. Come for a day where we will embody the art of being a woman in the middle of the soup of life. We will make soup together as both metaphor and sustenance. Each participant is asked to bring one ingredient in a paper bag that she will contribute to the pot for soup. Don’t discuss what you plan to bring with others who you know will also be attending.

Harmonious Stress Release
and Relaxation Techniques
This is an introduction to helpful and fun techniques that smooth and sooth the bumps of life. The practices are drawn from Eastern and Western concepts of prayer and meditation and old and new “alternative” therapies that help you gain an understanding of your own unique physical, mental, and emotional dialog.
Led by Barbara Brown, an art therapist, and Mary Dodd. Both are interfaith ministers and trained in a variety of healing modalities including Reiki and Aurora techniques.

The Pregnant Earth
We are at a “hinge of history” where old structures are collapsing and new structures are ready to burst forth. It is time to consciously awaken what we wish to birth — in ourselves and in our communities. Come for a day where we will embody the birthing process as we welcome spring and sow the seeds of change.

Wisdom of the Heart — A Pilgrimage with the Celtic Saints in Brittany:
Discovering God in All
It is impossible to resist Brittany’s charm and beauty, created through the shifting winds of nature, history and legends or escape being captivated by the ancient Celtic culture and traditions woven into this sacred land and its people. Ancient wisdom traditions from both the Christian and pre-Christian periods are embedded deeply with the Celtic soul and landscape of Brittany. What makes this pilgrimage unique is that we will relate this experience to the deeper wisdom of our own hearts through daily reflections, prayers and teachings as we journey through this sacred land together.
Pilgrimage guides are Marcus Losack, poet, author, Anglican priest and Celtic scholar; and Regina Roman, spiritual director, icon writer, and retreat facilitator.
Pat Bailey and Dee Irwin will be calling circle each day on the pilgrimage.
